South-Central Synod of Wisconsin- ELCA

On a local/regional level, Burke Lutheran Church is part of the South Central Synod of Wisconsin-ELCA, (SCSW-ELCA). The SCSW-ELCA is led by Bishop George Carlson with offices in Madison, WI.  He and the synod staff, provide support ministries to over 150 congregations in this region of WI.      Mission Statement The South-Central Synod of Wisconsin of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America is a church deeply and confidently rooted in the Gospel of God’s Grace. We exist, in partnership with the churchwide organization, to assist congregations and members to:  Worship God through Word and Sacrament and through lives of prayer, praise and thanksgiving; Nurture one another in the Word of God and grow in faith and commitment to Jesus Christ; and Give our life joyfully in witness and service.
