A New Year

Thanksgiving is over, Christmas is over, and New Years is over, what do we have to look forward to now?  I guess we can anticipate the Super Bowl, but that only lasts for a couple of hours and not everybody likes to watch football.  There's always sledding, but we need snow to be able to do that.  On Thursday night Survivor is on television, oh right, it’s over for the season.  Well, how about signing up at the YMCA for dance lessons?  No, I don't want to be that active.  Well let’s see...

CONFIRMATION is starting out in a blaze with an Epiphany bon fire on Wednesday, January 5th at 7:00 pm.  Everybody from the congregation is invited.  Go ahead and live dangerously, invite a friend, neighbor, co-worker, class mate.

SUNDAY SCHOOL starts up again on January 9th.  We are going to learn about everything there is to know about "Surprised by God's Grace".  There is even something there about Jesus being a vine.  I can't wait to see what that is all about.

Then there is going to be this interesting WOMEN'S get together at my house (I wonder if I should serve cake or maybe after the holiday's I should stick to carrots and celery?) on Thursday January 13th at 7:00 PM.  After an overwhelming request, we are going to start several small group Bible studies. Every woman from the congregation is invited so don't miss it.

Pastor Russ is inviting all MEN of Burke to breakfast on January 15th, 8:30 AM at Church.  The Breakfast is call "Discuss with Russ".  This sounds very intriguing.  I wonder what Pastor is going to discuss?

Whew!  I'm pumped and ready to go, how about YOU?

Hugs and Prayers,

Karen
