Sunday School is at 9:45 – and continues into the worship service. The morning begins with 15 minutes of music and is followed by 45 minutes of class.

We use an exciting Sunday School curriculum called 252 Basics. The program is packed with structure, fun and an age appropriate emphasis on a God-Centered life.

We are in need of your help! Please consider volunteering your time by joining our Sunday School Leadership Team! There will be training but our greatest qualifications for these positions are to have loving and caring individuals.

Youth Encounter - Quakes and Congress

Incorporated in 1965, Youth Encounter, http://www.youthencounter.org, is an evangelical and confessional Christian organization that began by sending a music ministry team to Scandinavia. Rooted in the Christian Scriptures and shaped by the Lutheran tradition, Youth Encounter has now grown into a global ministry serving churches of many denominations in the United States and over 40 other countries.

Annual weekend events, Quakes and Congresses, are scheduled throughout the country, featuring Christ-centered music, speakers, workshops, small groups and social activities. At these events, God builds caring Christian community among youth and adults, personal faith in Jesus Christ, and positive relationships among peers.

Youth Quakes in WI Dells are for young people in grades 6-9. This program also includes leadership opportunities for Junior Guides (grades 10-12) to serve as positive role models for the group.

Youth Congresses in Chicago Area  are designed for young people in grades 9-12.

Every three years, the youth of the ELCA come together for a week of faith building, service, learning, and fellowship.

It’s not about how many young people are gathered in one place at one time; it’s about what happens when they are together that is significant and exciting.

When 36,000 youth and adults of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America gather together every three years, they are immersed in Bible study, worship, service, music, learning, play, prayer, the witness of faithful leaders from around the world, caring for others, and new friendships. It’s a time of change and growth because we gather in the presence of God's Spirit with others who journey with Jesus.

It's a spiritually rich, unforgettable experience!

In the community of the Gathering, and by the power of the Holy Spirit, youth experience a strengthening of faith that gives them hope, courage, and a new spirit that is carried into everyday life back home and in the world. They learn to recognize Jesus in everyday situations. They experience the call to: If it sounds like a lot to experience, it is. The ELCA Youth Gathering is always an immersion in and of faith.

  • wake up to who they are in Christ
  • look around and see Christ in the eyes of those standing beside them
  • turn around and walk in a new direction
  • experience the new life that Jesus promises, and
  • go with God into the world as witnesses to Jesus’ way of service, healing, compassion, and justice

See you in New Orleans in 2009 for Jesus Justice Jazz!

 Wycliffe Bible Translator's Jungle Jump

A ministry of Wycliffe Bible Translators:

Escape from the jungle of routine living. Come to Jungle Jump Off and get a jump start introduction to the world of missions.

No time or funds for an overseas missionary trip? No problem! Venture to the woodlands near Dixon, IL to a program called Jungle Jump Off. You and your Jr/Sr High or college age group can spend a week in a simulated remote village setting right here in the U.S. Experience a taste of overseas living and missionary service for a minimal investment in time and money.

The Wycliffe Illinois Jungle Jump Off program includes exciting missionary videos and cross cultural demonstrations. Around an evening campfire, Wycliffe missionaries, will share their overseas experiences. A canoe trip to a "remote village" will put into practice linguistic principles learned during the week. A challenging ropes course will enhance your teambuilding skills. These experiences will help explode some myths about missions and expose your group to the realities of missionary life.

Promise Keepers Men's Conference

Promise Keepers is a Christ-centered organization dedicated to introducing men to Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord; and then helping them to grow as Christians. Christians.  This is mainly accomplished through a men's conference ministry.  Millions of men have participated since 1990 when PK first began.  Men of Burke have been attending conferences since 1995 throughout the midwest including, Minneapolis, Chicago, Milwaukee and Peoria.

Promise Keepers is not a membership organization.  Men and women of God are welcome to participate in our ministries and join our mailing lists; but are only promise keepers to the degree that they individually live out their testimonies among those who know them.
